Where could i find gallbladder surgery survival rates,or does anyone know what it is?
The mortality rate is 0.1 to 0.5% and now they mostly use small holes and a latitude (laproscopically)
Your chances of surviving are great. It is done laproscopically.
It really depends on the acuity of the merciful going in to the surgery. The published information on the laparoscopic cholecystectomy is 0.5% (1 in 200) but for an otherwise respectable patient the % is practically nil within a skilled surgeons hands.
Factors that increase risk: Age, portliness, family history of clotting, other morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension
I have mine out in April 2006 and I'm totally fine.
I be terrified! But it turned out to be no big promise.
