My husband's diabetes (type 1) is completely out of control.Who have have experience beside the insulin pump?
I enjoy had my pump for 6 years. I be on it for 2 years, then past its sell-by date it for 4. I recently go back on it (about 2 months ago). I love it and I regretted going rotten it (my old doctor's choice; my clean one was more than smiling to let me run back on it).
If you want to email me some specific question, I'll be happy to answer them. You can also dance to minimed.com for more information on pumps and request an information pack and video about them.
To me, pumps are lifesavers. I love the convenience and freedom the pump allows. My sugars are contained by much better control and I feel much well again. I was on MDIs (multiple on a daily basis injections). Even taking Lantus, I did not have the control that I enjoy with the pump. It doesn't run much to get used to wearing one...it's much close to wearing a pager. They are small and usually the solely people who spot them are other pump users and health thoroughness professionals. My pump also works well beside me on the job. Since I'm an EMT, I work some remarkably long and irregular hours. I may go hours between meal and the pump allows me to maintain my sugar lacking the yo-yos I had previously.
Good luck.

PS Insurance usually covers pumps an supplies. They are expensive but very well worth it.
I have be pumping for 4 years. In oreder for me to help, I want to know more about your sound out.
Is he already on a pump? Is he considering one and wants to know roughly it?
I can tell you that since I started pumping, my A1c have dropped from a 10.5 to my current one at 6.7! I love my pump and would NEVER go vertebrae to MDI.
