What's the first name of that disease where on earth you lose a big slice of your intestine?

And you have to put away a lot of food, but next go to the bathroom right afterwards because it a short time ago goes right through? Someone I know have this disease and lost 10 ft of her intestine, but I can't remember what it's called. What's the first name of that disease where on earth you lose a big slice of your intestine?
Did your friend hold the bowel surgery? Some diseases needed surgical treatment such as Crohn's Disease or other inflammatory bowel disease.
Intestinal Atresia is when one is born with parts of the intestine missing. A congenital fault so to speak.
Bowel obstruction.
It might be Intestinal atresia.
