Why is only one of my eyes red?

so my right eye has be red for months.. I've seen an eye doc and he give me some eye steroid drops and allergy drops and it seemed to work for awhile but immediately it's red again. it's right in the middle from my snout to the middle of the eye, and comes and goes (seems approaching more so the more I drink or smoke)? Why is only one of my eyes red?
Ha! I think I know exactly what you enjoy, as I have have the same problem for over a decade. I guess you have what is call a pterigium (I have them within both eyes). Allergy drops and steriods are commonly prescribed for them. Smoking , or even being contained by a polluted or smokey environment will make it worse. They can be removed, but not unless it have literally taken over your eye. Mine get pretty desperate and dont' qualify for surgery. I use Refresh artificial tears all the time when the pterigium flares up, and also allergy drops. If it is continuing to bother you, progress back to the eye doctor. They usually don't want to hold you on steroids all the time for this, but they can perchance give you a prescription for dry eye treatment. Unfortunately, pterigiums do not walk away, just flare up and bring very annoying. You should look them up on-line, to see if this is for sure what you hold. I could be wrong, but sounds so much like what I own. Good luck!
pink eye?
I'd say you'd hold to keep conversation to your doctor about it.
