Why is the control of pruritis so exalted contained by curing skin diseases?
Pruritis is medical speak for intense itching. There are at least a couple reason why it so important to control/treat: 1) People can score themselves to distraction and actually own open wounds adjectives over their body which are then friendly to more infection, and by extension, worse infections and diseases than the one they presented with. 2) Open skin sites can contribute further skin area for the presenting infection to spread and increase, so you can form the condition worse and bigger if you spread it by itching. 3) Human beings being what they are, if you itch an infectious skin condition and don't purify your hands all right or at all (sigh), you can spread the condition to others. 4) You can also chisel and itch yourself so much that you can damage the tissues and create mutilation tissue that takes months and months to make well or may require skin grafting. Does that answer your examine pretty comprehensively? Any other questions?
Sounds close to a homework question. Hmm... Okay, guess a minute about this. Use your brain. What does pruritis trigger us to do? Are you thinking? What's the answer?
Scratch, as expected. And what can excessive scratching do to the skin? Well?
Excoriate it. The skin is no longer intact and is adjectives to secondary infection, right? Isn't our skin the first row of defense?
I'm sure you could've reached this conlcusion if you'd given it more thought.
Pruritis process "itching". Scratching itchy skin can slow skin healing and force microbes into nonintact skin. You would be amazed (and grossed out) about the amount of microbes beneath your fingernails. Several newborn deaths here surrounded by Oklahoma were allied to microbes under the artificial fingernails of nurses who care for them.
